Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I decided to try Uncle Tony's as an alternative to Leonardo's (my go-to delivery pizza option). Bad move. I ordered a large one topping pizza, and a medium cheese pizza. The delivery person arrived at my house with one pizza (the large one topping). I paid him, and then waited to see if he could produce the second pizza that I ordered. Nothing. He confessed that he only had one pizza, even though I'd paid for two. The resolution was to give me a coupon for a free pizza. Worst part of the experience? The pizza that did arrive was seriously charred on the bottom, with very little topping. If it had not been for the delivery blunder, maybe Uncle Tony's would warrant a second star, but the quality of the product was so low, I can't imagine it doing better than that. Sorry.

We ordered two large pizzas from the other day.... for $16.00. Awesome price! Now as to how the pizza itself was: The crust was good, non-chain housemade crust, obviously baked on stone as opposed to the conveyer belts used at some locations. Comparable to the crust on the pies from Junior's or Rocky's. I liked it. The sauce? Not too much, but good flavor. Cheese/toppings: We got one plain cheese and one pepperoni. Both were great. Is this the best pizza I ever had? No. Is it one of the better pies in South Burlington? Sure. Though I'm pretty happy with about a half-dozen pizza places. I'm putting this place in with them. My top tier for Burlington pizza joints (that I've been to) would be Junior's(downtown and Colchester), Donny's (in Winooski), Leonardo's (mostly for their speciality topping/pies), American Flatbread, and Rocky's. And by the way, the corn meal was meant to assist sliding the unbaked pizza into the oven from a peel. My pizzas had a smattering- but not really all that much noticable. Quite a few places use cornmeal for this purpose.

I ordered the penne rigate with meatballs and it was the worst I've had in the area. The pasta was overcooked, the meatballs juicy but the tasted like plain hamburger, very little cheese, and the sauce was the worst part. It was so overly herbaceous that I can still taste the herbs an hour later. It's too bad, because that part of So. Burlington could use a few more decent, affordable, walkable food options. The staff was friendly, but they only had one menu and not even a chair for folks taking out to sit and wait. I won't be back.

Seriously?? We had stopped ordering for awhile because the last few pizzas have arrived all soggy. I order a pizza tonight and the owner himself takes the order. I ask for double cheese, ground beef and bacon. We get the pizza with double cheese, bacon and randomly placed super thin SLICED ROAST BEEF all dried up because of course thats what will happen if you put that on a pizza. It was soggy and disgusting. We are all DONE.

One of the best regular pizza places in the Burlington area. Take out/delivery only, no seating, FYI. Online ordering works well and there are a number of specials to keep things affordable. Shorter lady who usually works there is super nice. Cannolis are also very good.

Last night my son and I stayed at the Green Mt Suites. College bound mom and son trip. We were tired and just need to eat and sleep. We found out pizza could be ordered for delivery to the room. So perfect! It was prompt, tasty, hot, thin crust, lightly topped, yes cornmeal bottomed. Haven't you ever made pizza? It keeps it from sticking. It tasted like someone cared about you. We got bbq chicken with added sausage and spinach because we are weird but we liked it. They were nice and friendly and really that's what you want when you need food brought to your door. They deliver to the dorms and hotels. This is Vermont. There will be days when a hot pizza arriving to your room will be an uplifting experience come winter. Much better than predictable chain pizza. Do the right thing. Thanks Uncle Tony's.

Good and reliable pizza. Questionable delivery staff in regards to honesty. One claimed he rang the doorbell but the photo says otherwise. Don't lie.

We ordered buffalo zings and primavera pasta. Both were disappointing. The zings were small pieces of hard "chicken" that were barely edible. The pasta was like canned cheesy water. Wish we had ordered elsewhere.

Listen - It's Pizza. They cook the pizza crust to perfection and exactly how I ask. (I'm weird because I hate pizza sauce but they don't mind) The delivery is amazing and fast. I love tipping 5-10 bucks to these folks because they're so fast. If you want delivery in Burlington VERMONT you will NOT be disappointed with Uncle Tony's. I've tried them all. Sandwiches could be bigger for the money, but you're not over paying by any stretch. Free delivery. Good ingredients. I'm from Philly and worked in New York City. You know what so called NYC Pizza snobs? This place gives any NYC/NJ Pizza joint a damn good run for the money. Good Pizza in Vermont is hard to come by and I've tried a dozen places. If you live in South Burlington, this is a MUST. Just an FYI Google & Urban Spoon review this place at 4+ stars. So Yelper's, I'm gonna try to raise the bar while grubbing on my perfect pizza.

For as much as I travel and eat pizza on the road this was by far the best!! Super nice delivery lady. You can order plates, napkins and forks online which is wonderful when you live in a hotel! I will for sure be ordering when I am back in town!! Thank you Uncle Tony's pizza!!

So heading into Burlington, my SO mentioned Uncle Tony's, he really liked it and compared it to Mimmo's but cheaper! Therefore my expectations were set pretty high! $13 for a Large pizza with pepperoni, hamburg and extra cheese. Good deal there! I didn't like it all that much, maybe it was the fact I'm not really into hamburger, at least not on a pizza! Wasn't much of a fan of the cornmeal, just seemed really rough on my lips... maybe I'm being too sensitive. Overall 3 1/2 stars since I think my SO would rate it at 4 stars!

Ordered 3 pizzas on a Friday night. They arrived in 40 minutes as promised. Driver was polite and friendly. Pizzas were hot and cooked perfectly. The chicken Mediterranean will be ordered again!

meh... nothing special. Really skimpy on the toppings... On my large green pepper, mushroom, and pepperoni almost half the the pizza barely had a sprinkle of veggies on it. There was actually one piece with no veggies on it at all... Also the veggies were diced to tiny bits which I'm not a fan of, reminds me of cheap frozen pizzas. The online ordering through Eat24 worked perfect and the crust wasn't bad either.. somewhat thin and nicely chewy, but overall kind of bland and the lack of toppings killed it. Probably won't order here again.

We've ordered from Uncle Tony's a couple times a month for at least a year. The order is alway correct, delivered in a timely manner and most importantly...delicious! I'm a huge pizza lover and I'd have to say that these guys are far superior to the other local shops in the area. It's the closest to NY/Boston style pizza than anything else I've found. They improved their breadsticks about a year ago (I wasn't a fan of the initial offerings). They are now one of my favorite things on the menu. On top of things being really yummy, I feel like their prices are quite reasonable.

Got the Hawaiian pizza but had them put BBQ on it, it was quite good. No complaints other then the crust was boring and dry. Noting close to the NY pizza I'm used to but it was a huge step up from Dominos for sure. I also got the bread sticks and they were good, though a bit too salty for me. The marinara dip it came with was great and the delivery of the food was quick and painless. They called upon delivery as I requested, I would give it a 3 1/2 out of 4 stars. Defiantly would order again from them.

I am really picky about pizza but the pizza here reminds me more of what I'm used to in Philadelphia or NJ. Aside from flatbread/ pizza Veritas (which is obviously a totally different ballgame)Vermont is not very good at making pizza. But Uncle Tony's is suprisingly good and cheap. It's the only "real" pizza I've come across in Vermont.

I don't understand the bad reviews! A co-worker told me about uncle Tony's 3 years ago, and we rarely order from any place else. We probably order it 2-3 times a month. We love it! Thin, homemade crust, baked to perfection every time. Great prices too. And fast delivery.

Pizza is average... Definately no comparison to NY pizza. Don't bother w the wings... barely any sauce n they just don't have flavor. They were quick w delivery.

A new Pizza delivery restaurant in South Burlington; apparently the owners are former Domino's Pizza employees. The food arrived promptly and was nice and hot. Chicken wings didn't have much sauce. I like my wings crispy and these definitely were not crispy. They were large and did have a good flavor. The pizza was rather mediocre. I ordered sausage. The cheese and tomato sauce were good, but it was greatly lacking in sausage. I will probably give them another try after they've settled in for awhile.

Uncle Tony's Is Tops! You have to look for it because it won't see it from the road. It's next to Lee's Chinese on Dorset or just past Van Phan Billiards on San Remo if you come that way. Uncle Tony's is well worth the effort to find. They offer what I consider what the best pizza in South Burlington is and can easily go head to head with other pizza places, even those wood fired establishments in Chittenden County. First the crust. Not too thick, not to thin, it is just right. It's got flavor and is cooked evenly. You won't find any soft spots on their crust. Next the toppings. Whatever you like on your pie you'll get plenty of it here. The Italian word abbondanza immediately comes to mind. It reminded me of years ago when Pi Express operated in Essex Junction. At the end of the night, staff there would make crew pies for themselves and there were no weighing or portion packs for toppings. Uncle Tony's is a to-go operation only. Even the staffs that I interacted with were both respectful and courteous. After placing an on-line order (yes, they do that too!) I arrived several minutes early for pick up. After paying, the counter person said that she had just put my pie in. As it would take several minutes to cook she offered to bring my order out to the car. In addition to pizza, Uncle Tony's offers pasta, desserts and canned soda. They are located at 360 Dorset Street and open at 3:30 PM.

The only good thing I have to say and the only reason they get two stars and not one is the very nice girl that delivered my totally wrong order. I reviewed the site, read the reviews and thought I would get a good pizza and enjoy my evening. I was wrong. It took almost an hour, when it came to my hotel, it was totally wrong. When I called the girl that answered was like oh man I totally made the wrong pizza. I asked for my correct order and for them to credit my bill for the I convince and she didn't even pause when she said oh no I can't do that...I had a bite of the wrong pizza after I hung up the phone and it is not even worth it. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake as I did and order from Uncle Tony.

We got Deal Chicken coupons and tried this place out. I'd heard some mixed things about Uncle Tony's. We ordered a large cheese pizza on a Satuday evening, around 5:30. This was one of the best take-away pizzas we've had. If Junior's is the pinnacle, Uncle Tony's comes close. The crust was completely baked--some pizzas have a raw taste. The sauce was good and the cheese topping was ample. The whole pie was worth the coupon price, and we'd pay full price for another one. Next time we'll try it with some toppings. Everyone in our house gives it thumbs up.

I had high hopes for Uncle Tony's as it is close to home. Unfortunately the food did not live up to our expectations. The large pizza was nearly tasteless. It was light on the cheese, we could not taste the red sauce at all and the crust was beyond tough. I don't understand the purpose of all the corn meal on the bottom of the pizza. It certainly doesn't add to the taste. The lettuce in the Greek salad was wet, the sliced black olives were canned, and the roasted peppers tasted like they came from a jar. Not good when other takeouts in the area are using fresh ingredients. Disappointing...we won't be returning.
